Varanus Island - Construction Camp

Project Service: Accommodation
Client: Apache Energy
Location: Varanus Island, Indian Ocean, approx 1500 km north west of Perth, Western Australia
Start Date: 2000
Completion Date: 2000

This small but tightly scheduled contract was commissioned by Apache Energy to house construction workers needed to upgrade gas facilities located offshore from Varanus Island.

The works included modifying 32 accommodation units offsite prior to shipping from Dampier Port to the island.

The units were installed onsite prior to verandahs and paving being constructed and the connection of new main underground services.

Decmil completed the project in two months - one month offsite (including all procurement) and one month onsite.
