Rail workshop and wheel lathe building

The scope of work for this project covered the design, fabrication, supply, transport, inspection, testing and commissioning of the rail workshop and the wheel lathe building which are both steel framed structures with colorbond cladding based on a concrete slab. In addition to this, a fuel farm was constructed adjacent to the rail workshop.
The workshop contains the following:
- Two gantry cranes – 2-tonne and 38-tonne
- A prefabricated office complex, crib hut and ablution block
- Suspended steel platforms to access the locomotives
- A steel drawbridge
- Precast concrete dividing wall
- Structural steel structure supporting a colorbond clad roof
- 300 metres of rail line through the building
- Insitu slab and footing totalling 1800 cubic metres of concrete
